Affiliations and representatives
How to invite a representative
A confirmed affiliation lets customers check that someone contacting them really does work for your business.
Why affiliations matter
Most impersonation involves someone claiming to represent a business they have nothing to do with. A confirmed affiliation means a customer can check that claim rather than take it on trust.
Sending an invitation
- Go to Dashboard › Affiliations.
- Choose Invite.
- Enter the person’s work email address and their role.
- Choose whether the affiliation appears on your public business profile.
- Send it.
What the person has to do
They confirm control of the work email address you invited, then accept. If they do not yet have a VERIFIED Account, one is created as part of accepting, so they do not need to sign up separately first.
What they control
Accepting confirms the affiliation. It does not automatically publish it on their personal profile: that is their choice, and it is off by default. You control whether it appears on the business profile; they control whether it appears on theirs.
Ending an affiliation
Either side can end it. When someone leaves, ending the affiliation immediately removes any dashboard access and stops their work identifiers being shown as current. The history is kept, so a past verification result remains explainable.
If someone will not confirm
An invitation expires rather than lingering indefinitely. You can resend or cancel it. You cannot confirm an affiliation on someone else’s behalf. That would defeat the point.
